According to Pars Oil and Gas Company, Sepahdar Abbaszadeh said Wednesday during a visit by Zbihollah Khodaeian, head of the State Inspectorate Organization, and Hamid Bovard, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, to Asaluyeh: "Employees on South Pars platforms, located about 100 kilometers from the onshore facilities, are engaged in production activities. South Pars gas is extracted from 39 offshore platforms and sent via 32-inch subsea pipelines to refineries in the South Pars region for processing and injection into the national network."
He pointed to efforts to create new gas extraction capacities in South Pars, stating: "Through measures taken in the past year, 14 new wells have been commissioned so far, and this number will increase by the end of the year."
The deputy of operations and support noted that current extraction from South Pars exceeds the mandated production quota. He said: "The production commitment of Pars Oil and Gas Company is currently 722 million cubic meters of gas per day. Due to cold weather, gas extraction has increased to a new record of 727 million cubic meters."
