An analysis of nationwide gas consumption patterns shows that the arrival of cold weather on several days in Azar pushed gas deliveries to the national grid to as high as about 860 million cubic meters per day. With winter-driven shifts in demand, the household, commercial and small industrial sectors claimed a substantial portion of total gas supplied to the network.
Records indicate that consumption in these sectors rose from 465.42 million cubic meters on the first day of Azar (November 22) to 672.12 million cubic meters on the final day, an increase of 206.7 million cubic meters over the course of the month.
Total consumption in Azar reached more than 16.374 billion cubic meters, with a daily average exceeding 545.8 million cubic meters, underscoring the dominant role of natural gas in the country’s energy mix. As a result, managing consumption and maintaining the stability of the gas network have become critical priorities for the Oil Ministry.
Adhering to optimal consumption patterns and using standard heating equipment are seen as key to preserving the stability of the gas distribution network and preventing additional strain during peak demand periods.
