Lar Dam Loses 12 cu. m. Water per Second

TEHRAN – Director of exploitation from Lar Dam announced that when full of water, Lar Dam lost 12 cu. m. water per second.

Valiollah Zolqadri told Petroenergy Information Network that water escape from the dam varied from 3 to 12 cu. m. per second. Lar Dam is located 75 km northeast Tehran. He said the dam was built by a British company using an Italian company as contractor. Zolqadri stated that 4.5 m per second water was added to Lar Dams lake in times of low precipitation while it increased to about 70 m per second when precipitation was profuse. “We asked Iranian and foreign specialists to find ways for curbing water wastage from the dam but no satisfactory results have been achieved yet,” he said.
