Speaking at the signing ceremony on Thursday, Mohsen Paknejad expressed his gratefulness to President Masoud Pezeshkian to attend the ceremony, adding that two sets of contracts will be inked today on purchasing guaranteed drilling services and processing crude in oilfields.

Referring to expansion of crude of production of the country with the implementation of the said contracts, he noted that it will lead to significant achievements in uplifting the economic indexes of Iran.

By execution of the new pattern for guaranteed purchase of drilling rigs services, the oil industry has targeted to support investors in renovation of the country’s drilling fleet, the minister stressed.

Increasing crude extraction from 6 oilfields

Paknejad said the eye-catching rise in the number of drilling sets means a growth the number of new wells as well as speeding up the development in upstream sectors of Iranian oil and gas industry.

He went on to say that in addition to crude oil extraction, the project will create a steady flow of revenues for the country.

Parallel to the major leap in expansion of Iranian drilling fleet on acceleration of processing crude in six oilfields of Mansouri (Bangestan), Abtimur, Ramshir, Mansourabad, Koranj and Golkhari, Paknejad said contracts on purchasing services of skid mounted crude processing units will be signed.

He also stressed that by inking the contract, the NIOC will purchase crude oil processing services over $1.7 billion under the BOO framework in 10 years.

Furthermore, with the project to be done by private sector, the daily oil processing capacity will increase by 315,000 barrels, as a drop of 180,000 barrels will be prevented, while 135,000 barrels will be added to nameplate production.

Despite illegal sanctions and several challenges, the average of crude production in the month December 21, 2025, registered a daily rise of 225,000-barrel compare to starting days of the 14th administration.

New gas production record

A set of measures led to registering a new daily gas production of 1.114 billion cubic meters in recent Iranian month of Dey (started December 22, 2025), the minister said.

The Oil Ministry gives the priority of extraction to joint fields to save national assets, Paknejad stated adding that the country hit the unprecedent figure of 725 million cubic meters for daily production of gas from South Pars joint field. The achievement was done by the expertise and efforts of Iranian oil industry staff.

With its effective performance, the Iranian oil industry is seeking to unlock and facilitate investment in production technology as well as establishing sustainable employment, he said, stating that by formulating new models of contracts, the ground is paved for the presence of private sector and non-governmental companies in upstream projects of oil industry. It was only possible for major companies of large capitals.

The value chain of oil industry upstream will split to smaller ones with the signed projects, helping to influential absorb of small resources, Paknejad stressed that with the implementation of the mentioned projects, a sum of 11,500 direct job will be created.

The minister called it the way for the future of Iranian oil industry, concluding that under the regulation of the government, the private sector will act as a driver which will result in strengthening the national power and more prosperity of the nation.
