Installation of second jacket for South Pars Phase 11

SHANA (Bushehr) – The second wellhead jacket for Phase 11 of the South Pars gas field, weighing more than 2,000 tons, has been installed in Persian Gulf waters, announced the caretaker for South Pars Phase 11 development project, adding that it will be completed in upcoming days.

According to POGC, Keyvan Tariqati explained that the steel structure of SPD11A wellhead jacket stands at about 77 meters tall and weighs 2,257 tons which is now installed by HL-5000 floating installer at Phase 11 of South Pars, located on the Iran-Qatar maritime border, for offshore installation.

Once fully installed with its wellhead jacket and related equipment, the structure’s weight will reach about 4,100 tons, providing the necessary base for a drilling rig and the start of operations.

For the first time in South Pars offshore development, the jacket was optimized and its weight reduced during design.

The loading and transport operation used heavy-lift equipment and local expertise, marking a key step in the development of the field’s final remaining phase.

Targeted at daily production of 2 billion cubic feet of rich gas, the South Pars Phase 11 development project, operated by the POGC and represented by the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has been handed over to Petropars Company under new contract forms.
