According to Petropars Group, CEO Hamidreza Saqafi said development of the strategic Phase 11, located at the border of the shared South Pars gas field, began in 2020 under the previous administration and continued under the following government. However, he said a major operational leap — including a doubling of gas production capacity at Phase 11 — has been achieved over the past 17 months under the current administration.
He said the achievement reflects coordination and cooperation between managers and staff at Pars Oil and Gas Co., the project’s employer, and the Petropars Group, and was realized through full reliance on domestic capabilities and round-the-clock efforts by employees.
Saqafi said that despite the progress, Iran’s gas supply imbalance is a long-standing issue that cannot be resolved overnight. He added that oil and gas specialists are working with full commitment and continuous effort to reduce shortages and ensure the country’s energy security.
