Construction of Three Dams Started in Hamedan

TEHRAN – Implementation of two dam construction projects and a water canal in Hamedan province started today in the presence of deputy energy minister for water affairs, Reza Ardekanian.

The projects include construction of Nematabad and Sarabi dams as well as water transfer line from Ekbatan Dam. Construction of Shirin Sou Dam will also start tomorrow. Nematabad Dam will be built over Shahab River, 42 km west of Hamedan to supply water to 14,000 hectares agricultural lands in Asadabad. The dam, which would be constructed through 80 billion rials investment would be capable of reserving 18 million cu. m. water. Sarabi Dam would be constructed on Gazandar River in Toiserkan to supply water to the city. The dam, which would cost about 95 billion rials, would contain 9.2 million cu. m. water.
