RIPI signed a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation agreement with Behin Palayesh Naft Qeshm and the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, respectively.
The agreements were signed Sunday, Dec. 21, during RIPI’s Research and Technology Festival, as part of efforts to advance the oil and gas industry’s strategic goals and strengthen the national innovation ecosystem.
Under the cooperation agreement with Behin Palayesh Naft Qeshm, RIPI will grant licenses for the use of technical know-how and prepare process design documents for a sulfur recovery unit (SRU). The agreement is intended to support localization of technical expertise and enhance domestic capabilities in the design and implementation of process units in Iran’s refining industry. The document was signed by Azim Kalantari-Asl, president of RIPI, and Hamed Doshmanfana Yazdi, CEO of Behin Palayesh Naft Qeshm.
Separately, RIPI and the Innovation and Prosperity Fund signed a memorandum of understanding focused on supporting technology-driven projects, developing knowledge-based companies and facilitating financing for innovative projects in the oil, gas and energy sectors. The MoU was signed by Kalantari-Asl and Asghar Nourollahzadeh, CEO of the fund.
According to the report, the agreements align with RIPI’s policies to expand engagement with industry, support innovation and commercialization of research and strengthen the technology value chain in Iran’s energy sector.
In a related development, RIPI won first place in the water resources category under new climate conditions at the Third Eurasia Green International Competition, selected from 255 research projects submitted by participants from 16 countries. Jaber Neshati, head of RIPI’s Energy and Environment Campus, received the award, which had been presented to Iran’s embassy in Russia, earlier today.
