According to president.ir, Pezeshkian made the remarks Saturday at a Transportation Week ceremony. He said global experience shows that urban, road, rail, air and maritime transportation should be managed within a coordinated system under unified policymaking, adding that the government is designing and implementing an integrated transportation management model.
Emphasizing the role of efficiency in addressing transportation challenges, the president called for renewing the aging fleet, cutting fuel consumption, replacing vehicles with cleaner alternatives and improving road safety. He said the continued use of decades-old cars, trucks and tow vehicles on the roads is unacceptable and that reforming the situation would enhance safety, efficiency and service quality.
Pezeshkian also said the government is ready to hold specialized meetings with stakeholders across the transportation sector, adding that through cooperation, scientific management and the use of global experience, many long-standing problems in the sector can be resolved in a short time.
