Figures from the National Iranian Gas Company show that demand in the household, commercial and small industries sectors remained elevated in the fourth week of Azar amid falling temperatures and widespread use of heating equipment.
On Saturday, Azar 22, consumption in these sectors stood at 557.72 million cubic meters. It rose sharply on Sunday, Azar 23, to 587.31 million cubic meters. Consumption increased to 610.51 million cubic meters on Monday, Azar 24, and edged up to 615.12 million cubic meters on Tuesday, Azar 25.
On Wednesday, Azar 26, gas use reached the highest level of the week at 641.23 million cubic meters. It remained nearly unchanged on Thursday, Azar 27, at 639.14 million cubic meters and at the end of the week on Friday, Azar 28, at 641.22 million cubic meters.
Overall, total gas consumption in the household, commercial and small industries sectors from Azar 22 to Azar 28 amounted to about 4.3 billion cubic meters, reflecting continued heavy use of natural gas during the cold half of the year.
