List of Petrochemical Companies to Be Privatized

TEHRAN – Member of board of directors of Iran Privatization Organization (IPO) noted that the organization has prepared a list of 120 subsidiary companies of Ministry of Petroleum for transfer to the private sector, some of which will be transferred during the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2007) and the rest will be transferred in the coming years.

The Public Relations Department of National Petrochemical Company announced the names of companies to be privatized during the current year and subsequent years as follows:

Companies to be privatized in 2007:

Shiraz Petrochemical Company; Razi Petrochemical Complex; Tabriz Petrochemical Complex; Damavand Petrochemical Company (not operating); Bushehr Petrochemical Company (not operating); Dubai Petrochemical Commerce Company; Singapore Petrochemical Commerce Company; Britain Petrochemical Commerce Company; Germany’s Interacom; Petrochemical Transportation Company, Supplying Petrochemical Industries Parts, Equipments and Chemical Engineering Company; Petrochemical Terminals and Tanks Company, Rahavaran Fonoun Petroshimi, Urmia Petrochemical Company (3,000 tons); Rahbaran Petroshimi; Petrochemical Research and Technology Company; Shanghai and China Petrochemical Commerce Company; Khorasan Petrochemical Company; Fajr Petrochemical Company; Amir Kabir Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 49 percent of stocks); Bakhtar Petrochemical Complex (with 30 percent state possession); Downstream Petrochemical Industries Development Company (with government possessing 34.9 percent of stocks); Ilam Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 49 percent of stocks); Marjan Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 48.99 percent of stocks); Hegmataneh Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 32 percent of stocks); Ghadir Urea and Ammonia Company (with government possessing 48.99 percent of stocks); Morvarid Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 48.9 percent of stocks); Downstream Petrochemical Industries Expansion Company (with government possessing 47 percent of stocks); Zagros Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 49.9 percent of stocks); Jam Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 49.9 percent of stocks); Fanavaran Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 49.9 percent of stocks), and Petrochemical Industries Investment Company (with government possessing 28.76 percent of stocks)

 

Companies to be privatized in 2008:

Khuzestan Petrochemical Complex; Bistoon Petrochemical Complex, Pardis Petrochemical Complex; Non-Industrial Operations and Petrochemical Industries Services Company; International Petrochemical Commerce Company; Kalaye Petroshimi Company; Mobin Petrochemical Complex; and Pars Petrochemical Complex

 

Companies to be privatized in 2009:

Pazargad Non-Industrial Operations and Shahid Tondgouyan Petrochemical Complex

 

Companies to be privatized in 2010:

Persian Gulf Petrochemical Company; Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical Complex; and Arvand Petrochemical Complex

 

Companies to be privatized in 2011:

Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex; Faravaresh Petrochemical Complex; Kimia Petrochemical Complex; Kharazmi Petrochemical Complex; Borzouyeh Petrochemical Complex (with government possessing 76.5 percent of stocks), and Basparan Petrochemical Complex.
