Egypt is willing to offer liquefied natural gas (LNG) to India, provided New Delhi takes the first step of approaching it, said Mahfoz Ibrahim Ahmed, geologist for Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Companies.

"Gujarat State Petroleum Corp (GSPC) has already been awarded one of the blocks for exploration. We are very happy with the investment from India," Ahmed, also vice chairman assistant for companies control, said at the sidelines of Petrotech 2007.

"We are also exploring downstream investment opportunities in India in its refineries and LNG."

Ahmed said Egypt would offer both onshore and offshore exploration opportunities to India.
