IDSC Plays Pivotal Role in Oil, Gas Production

TEHRAN – A member of National Iranian Oil Company’s board of directors noted that Iran Drilling Services Company (IDSC) plays a pivotal role in oil and gas production.

Seifollah Jashnsaz, who was speaking during induction ceremony for the new managing director of IDSC in Ahvaz, added that a good plan has been formulated for development of the company, which will make IDSC one of the most important drilling companies in the Middle East.

“Purchasing four light repair rigs, three core pipes, two nitrogen injection pumps and two pump trucks is among major steps to be taken for development of the company,” he said.

Managing director of the National Iranian South Oil Company further stated that there is direct relationship between activities of IDSC and production, adding, “Development of the company should be made possible through availing of modern technologies and attraction of skilled manpower.”

Jashnsaz noted that IDSC and its manpower are among assets of the National Iranian Oil Company and the new management would do its best to promote the company.

“In addition to oil and gas operations, we must avail of our specialized labor force for transfer of experiences and training of new manpower,” he opined.

Member of board of directors of the National Iranian Oil Company further stated that attention to safety is a linchpin of IDSC’s operations and should top the company’s agenda.

He also lauded services rendered by the former managing director of IDSC during his three- year tenure and wished the best for the new managing director.

During the ceremony, the new managing director of IDSC mentioned promoting labor culture as top of his agenda, noting, “Suitable ways for promoting the company will be identified and used by studying various sections of the company.”

Gholamhossein Dashtipour further noted that renovation of equipment and technology transfer are other plans that should be seriously followed by the company.

Also, the former managing director of Iran Drilling Services Company presented a report of the current situation and performance of the company and said that in 2006 three light repair rigs were used to repair 30 wells, which in addition to being ahead of the projected goal by 14 wells, was unprecedented in the whole history of the National Iranian South Oil Company.

Shapour Moradi added that three core pipes were also used in 264 operations and the figure showed a 10-percent increase compared to the preceding year.

The official noted that services provided by Iran Drilling Services Company were not limited to the south oil regions and encompassed the whole oil industry of Iran.

Iran Drilling Services Company is one of the specialized affiliates of the National Iranian South Oil Company which started its activities in 2004. At present, it operates three repair rigs and a repair rig for compressed wells, four cementing pumps, and three core pipe machines. It provides needed services to subsidiary companies of the National Iranian Central Oil Company, Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, gas injection projects of Aghajari, and development plan of Tabnak gas field and also helps the National Iranian Drilling Company with Gavarzin, Shanol, Homa, Varavi, Sarajeh (in Qom), and western projects. The company also provides services to Pars Oil and Gas Company.
