TEHRAN – Managing director of Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company announced that the company has produced 11,000 barrels per day more crude oil than originally expected during the past Iranian calendar year (ended March 21, 2007).

Seyed Abdollah Mousavi told reporters that the company was supposed to produce 718,000 barrels per day crude oil last year, but the actual figure reached 728.7 barrels per day.

He noted that since four new developmental wells and 8 repair wells have been made operational during the said period, daily output of the company has reached 45,000 barrels per day.

Mousavi also stated that the result of engineering operations on wells in 2006 was daily production of 42,000 barrels crude.

Managing director of Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company stated that part of the company’s produced oil is sent through pipeline to domestic refineries and another part is taken to export terminals.

“Last year, 27,000 barrels per day liquid gas and 8,080 barrels per day naphtha were produced per day, up by 28.1 percent and 32.5 percent, respectively, compared to the corresponding period of the preceding year,” he said.

The official further noted that the company was expected to produce 853.8 million cu. ft. gas dry per day, but the actual figure reached 855.7 million cu. ft. per day, up by about 13 percent compared to 2005.

Mousavi stated that part of the produced gas is given to the National Iranian Gas Company, adding, “In line with current plans to prevent pressure drop in oil reservoirs and also in line with policies of National Iranian South Oil Company, a total of 830 million cu. ft. gas was injected in 24 wells related to three major oil fields.”

“Injection of gas liquids through combination method in Ramshir reservoir reached 5,668 barrels per day in the aforesaid period,” he said.

Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company is one of the five subsidiaries of the National Iranian South Oil Company, which is in charge of production, processing and transfer of oil and gas produced by seven oil fields.
