Iran’s 06 Gas Condensates Export Sales Near $900m

TEHRAN -- Iran’s gas condensates output in the last Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2006 to March, 20, 2007) was valued at around 1.3 billion dollars, said the managing director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) here Saturday.

Exports of gas condensates attracted almost 900 million dollars, excluding South Pars gas field exports, showing a 39 percent rise compared to that of its preceding year, Seyed Reza Kassaeizadeh told PIN.

The official had earlier announced that last year’s gas contracts fetched the country 4.6 billion dollars adding, NIGC’s current deals valued at about 20 billion dollars were on the move.  

The worth of contracts the NIGC signed in the past year exceeded 70 trillion rials (more than 7.8 billion dollars), said the official, adding the company inked deals on different projects including setup of gas pressure station as well as the laying of urban and rural gas pipes.

According to the official, Iran’s total gas consumption surpassed 109 billion cubic meters, showing a 12 percent growth compared to the figure in its preceding year.

Gas supply climbed 3.8 percent and industrial gas consumption went above 14 billion cubic meters.

Gas production rose over 10 percent to 117 million cubic meters, he said.
