In January the partners submitted a plan for development and operation (PDO) for Yme field to the Norwegian energy ministry to drill 12 production and injection wells and install a production platform to process oil and gas, and establish water injection facilities (OGJ Online, Jan. 24, 2007). First production is planned for 2009 with expected maximum gross production of 40,000 b/d of oil.
Yme was discovered in 1986 and Statoil ASA, the operator at the time, produced half of the field"s reserves from 1996 until permanent abandonment of the field in 2001.
Operator Talisman based the PDO on estimated remaining reserves of 50-60 million bbl.
Talisman holds a 70% stake in the PL 316 license that includes the Yme field. Revus Energy has 20% and Pertra has 10%.
