Khorassan, Razi, Shiraz, and Ghadir plants are currently main producers of the commodities, meeting domestic and overseas demands.

Khorassan and Ghadir complexes having an annual production of 825 and 755 million tons of urea and ammoniac have the highest and lowest production shares in the country.

In addition to the said commodities, crystal melamine, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, de ammonium phosphate, sulfur, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, nitrate explosive, sodium bicarbonate, chloridric acid are being produced in Khorassan, Razi, and Shiraz complexes. 

At the moment the country"s urea and ammoniac demand stands at 5 million tons, of which only 1.3 million tons are produced by local companies.

Therefore, new provincial Golestan, Lordegan, Zanjan, and Kermanshah petrochemical projects are set to come on stream to fulfill domestic demands.
