3 New Gas Transfer Zones to Be Established

TEHRAN – Due to development of gas transfer operations and the need to maintain equipment in gas transfer zones, three more zones will be established in various parts of the country.

Managing director of Iran Gas Transfer Company (IGTC) told Petroenergy Information Network that there new zones will be established in south, west and north of the country and will be added to seven gas transfer zones that have been already working.

Mostafa Kashkouli added that gas transfer zones span vast geographical areas and handle high volumes of gas.

Therefore, to reduce every zone workload, we will establish zones 7, 9 and 10 in the near future,” he added.

The official stated that gas transfer operations are very sensitive due to lack of gas storage reservoirs in the country, adding, “Transfer is the main link between production and consumption and any disruption of transfer will face the country with grave problems. Therefore, our company is using all its capacity including gas compression stations, accessory installations and, most importantly, skilled manpower to assure smooth transfer of natural gas.”

Managing director of Iran Gas Transfer Company also noted that the company will mobilize all its capacities for transfer of gas during the first half of the year to assure smooth gas transfer in the second half.
