Installing Production Platform Topside Ends in SP Phase 7

TEHRAN – Installing topside of a production platform related to phase 7 of South Pars gas field has been finished by domestic contractors.

The Public Relations Department of Pars Oil and Gas Company reported that the topside was first loaded and carried 100 km off Assaluyeh and was installed at a depth of 70 m, for the first time, by Iranian contractor using SADRA Company’s vessel, HLB 5000.

The report added that the platform weighs approximately 2,800 tons and has four stories. It will carry out the first phase of gas transfer needed for phases 6, 7, and 8 of South Pars gas field.

Production platforms for phases 6 and 8 will be carried to the sea and installed in the near future.

Offshore installations of South Pars phases 6, 7, and 8 include three production and drilling platforms, 30 wells; three 32-inch undersea pipelines which will transfer gas to onshore refinery over a distance of 105 km; three 4.5-inch pipelines to transfer glycol; the second single point mooring (SPM) terminal, which will be used for exporting gas condensate; as well as a 30-inch undersea pipeline which will transfer gas condensate to SPM terminal over a distance of 5.4 km.

The main goal of developing phases 6, 7, and 8 of South Pars gas field includes daily production of 104 million cu. m. sour and dry gas; and daily production of 158,000 barrels gas condensate for export in addition to the annual production of 1.6 million tons liquefied petroleum gas (propane and butane) for exports.

Gas sweetening plan of onshore refinery of South Pars phases 6, 7, and 8 is being carried out by building four gas sweetening and processing units with daily capacity of 4,000 million cu. ft. gas.
