Youth engagement, a vital need for today’s oil industry

SHANA (Tehran) – The oil minister honored the memory of student martyrs and emphasized the unparalleled role of university students in Iran’s development and their key contribution to the future of the oil industry.

The text of Mohsen Paknejad’s message on the occasion of Azar 16 (Student Day) is as follows:

“Iran’s eventful history is filled with major occasions, each symbolizing the struggle, sacrifice and devotion of the Iranian people.

“Undoubtedly, one of the most significant and influential of these occasions is Azar 16 (December 7). On this day, students, with a clear understanding of the circumstances, fulfilled their historic mission for the country’s independence and honor. With the sacrifice of three martyrs, they placed a great responsibility on the shoulders of this enlightened and future-making generation.

“Today, more than ever, Iran needs the active, innovative and intelligent presence of students to overcome challenges and to advance along the path of growth and development — with the oil industry at the forefront. Enthusiastic and informed young people across the country are studying in fields related to oil, gas, petrochemicals, energy and other disciplines, forming the human capital of the industry’s future.

“With a focus on youth inclusion, the Oil Ministry has sought to pave the way for meaningful participation, idea generation and active involvement of students and young researchers in major projects and programs through universities, research institutes and innovation centers. We believe that without tapping into the scientific and technical capacity of the student generation, moving toward a sustainable and competitive future will not be possible.

“I congratulate all Iranian students, especially those studying disciplines related to the oil industry, on this occasion and wish them success and pride in their path of learning, progress and service to Iran.”
