TEHRAN -- The vans R90 and Sobol, Peugeot 307, new versions of Peugeot 405 and 206 and a budget car as well as the minibus 518 are among the new products scheduled to roll out of Iran Khodro Co., noted Manuchehr Manteqi, the company"s managing director on Tuesday.

Referring to the new Iranian year (started March 21) as a turning point in the history of Iran Khodro, he said that in addition to boosting production, enhancing quality and increasing exports, the industrial group was planning to offer new products in this year.

 

He elaborated on the company"s decision in the current year for the production of 635,000 passenger cars and said that 538,400 units of the manufactured vehicles were to be offered to the domestic market and the rest would be exported.

 

He also announced that in the current year, the company planned to export $700 million of automotive products including 76,500 completely built units (CBU), 20,100 semi-knocked down (SKD) units, $100 million completely-knocked down (CKD) commercial vehicles, $100 million rail products as well as $30 million of technical and engineering services.

 

Manteqi further explained that exports from Iran Khodro in the past year hit $310 million and included sedans ($185 million), commercial vehicles ($36.5 million), auto parts ($60 million), rail equipments ($16 million) and technical and engineering services ($14 million).
