Euro-4 diesel deliveries to Tehran power plants exceed commitments

SHANA (Tehran) – The head of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said deliveries of Euro-4 diesel to power plants in Tehran Province have surpassed the company’s commitments, noting that about 97 percent of the diesel supplied to the Damavand power plant met the Euro-4 standard.

Keramat Veis-Karami told Shana that, so far, 85 percent of the diesel delivered to power plants in the province has been Euro-4. He added that the Rey gas-fired power plant in southern Tehran has used only natural gas and has not received any liquid fuel.

He said that under an agreement with the Department of Environment, the company was required to supply 50 percent Euro-4 diesel to power plants in Tehran Province. Current data, he added, shows that Euro-4 deliveries have exceeded that requirement.

97 % of Damavand Power Plant Fuel Is Euro-4

Veis-Karami said the Parand power plant in southwest Tehran, near the Central Province border, has received more than 31 million liters of Euro-4 diesel and 26 million liters of regular diesel, meaning over 53 percent of its diesel supply has met the Euro-4 standard.

He said the Damavand power plant has received about 300 million liters of Euro-4 diesel and only 10 million liters of regular diesel since the beginning of the year. As a result, about 97 percent of its fuel supply has been Euro-4, exceeding the commitment set with the Department of Environment.
