The project for the construction of a desalination plant in Masjed Soleyman with the aim of organizing, renovating and replacing old facilities and improving oil production of Masjed Soleiman, Parsiah, Lali, Karoun and Zilaei fields with the approved credit of 1,060 billion Rials began in February 2005. The project's distillation unit has become operaitonal. With the implementation of this project, in addition to increasing oil production capacity for Masjed Soleiman, Persia, Karun, Zilaei and Lali fields, it will be possible to process 12,000 barrels of gas condensate daily in Bangestan Field.
