TEHRAN -- The project manager of Samand automaking plant in Syria, Mehdi Tashakkori, said Saturday that Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) aims to capture 50 percent of the Syria"s 600-million-dollar market.

Tashakkori said about 50,000 cars enter the Syrian market each year and Iran Khodro could capture more than 50 percent share of the market by adopting a long-term strategy.

 

He called the Syrian market very competitive, adding that Iran Khodro success in Syria lies in to pricing, variety, innovation, quality, and after-sales service.

 

Tashakkori said that the first phase of Samand plant in Syria will be completed soon with a production capacity of 10,000 cars annually.

 

After completion of the second and third lines, the IKCO"s full capacity in the Arab state will reach 30,000 cars a year, of which the extra will be exported to regional markets.
