Undersea Pipeline for Salman Field Nearly Complete

TEHRAN – Managing director of Iran Offshore Engineering and Construction Company announced that a project for building undersea oil and gas pipelines at Salman oil and gas field and a 30-inch undersea pipeline for exporting gas to AP platform of Mobarak field will be finished in two months.

Masoud Soltanpour told Petroenergy Information Network that the project has thus far progressed 90 percent and added that if financial problems between the client and NICO Company are solved, the project will be finished by that time. He added that the project includes about 300 km pipeline of which 220 km pertains to a 30-inch export pipeline and 70 km pertains to low diameter pipes among the fields platforms. Soltanpour also noted that hydro test, free span correction and crossing operations of the field will be finished soon. “A 30-inch undersea pipeline for exporting gas to AP platform of Mobarak field through Sirri Island will be finished soon,” he noted. A consortium comprising Iran Offshore Engineering and Construction Company and Amid Company are in charge of this part of the project, which is being carried out as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). Petroiran Development Company is client of the project and the contract for developing Salman oil field was made effective in 2000 according to buyback scheme. Daily production of 50,000 barrels crude oil and 500 million cu. ft. standard gas from Dalan reservoir are major goals of development of Salman oil and gas field.
