NIOC board convenes in Asaluyeh as company prepares for steady winter gas supply

SHANA (Tehran) – The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) is fully prepared to ensure a stable gas supply during the winter season, the company’s managing director said Sunday.

Hamid Bovard, speaking on the sidelines of an NIOC board meeting in Asaluyeh on Sunday aimed at reviewing production status and winter preparedness, said this year’s situation has improved compared with last year, thanks to precise and coordinated planning.

“Based on lessons learned from last winter, we are entering this season with greater accuracy and cohesion,” Bovard said. “Regular meetings and constant follow-ups by the oil minister have allowed us to reach a higher level of readiness than before.”

The deputy oil minister noted that the Asaluyeh region supplies more than 70 percent of the country’s gas. He said the meeting focused on operational plans, major maintenance work and forecasts to ensure full preparedness for winter.

Bovard added that gas production has increased compared with last year. He urged the public to continue using gas efficiently to help maintain the network’s stability. “Although necessary measures have been taken to manage consumption in industries and power plants, public cooperation in the household sector remains crucial,” he said.

He concluded that with higher production and efficient consumption management, Iran expects to experience a stable and calm winter.
