Transparency, integration key pillars of digital transformation in gas industry

SHANA (Tehran) – The director of integrated planning at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said that data integration across organizations and transparent implementation of upstream regulations on data security and privacy are two key pillars of digital transformation in the gas industry.

Speaking Monday, at an event focused on developing knowledge-based collaborations for digital transformation, Saeid Pakseresht emphasized that data protection and privacy are among the most important requirements for achieving digital transformation. He added that knowledge-based companies play a vital role in advancing digital transformation goals and must be fully aware of relevant upstream regulations, security constraints, and data interconnectivity.

Pakseresht said clarifying these requirements is essential to attract investors, adding that awareness of such obligations helps ensure that companies operate on reliable and transparent foundations. “Regulatory bodies must also facilitate the implementation of these policies and create the conditions for lawful and effective participation of companies and investors,” he said.

He highlighted two main pillars in the digital transformation path: establishing data integration among different organizations and departments to enable logical connectivity and more accurate decision-making, and developing and transparently enforcing upstream regulations on data security and privacy.

Referring to numerous meetings on digital transformation policymaking at NIGC, Pakseresht said this event was a practical step in the same direction. “The event aims to promote organizational knowledge, build a culture of digital transformation, and strengthen knowledge-based cooperation, paving the way for the effective implementation of digital transformation programs in the country’s gas industry,” he said.
