According to the South Pars Gas Complex, Gholamabbas Hosseini said Thursday on the sidelines of a visit by members of the parliament’s Energy Committee that in a year marked by severe energy imbalances, South Pars managed — through the relentless efforts of its staff and reliance on domestic capabilities — to meet over 73% of gas demand from households and industries.
He said the complex achieved new production records despite harsh winter conditions and concurrent overhaul operations. The installation and commissioning of two new domestically developed turbines significantly boosted daily production capacity, enabling the injection of nearly 600 million cubic meters of sweet gas into the national network on the coldest days of the year.
Hosseini emphasized that the South Pars Gas Complex serves as the main pillar of the country’s energy supply and also acts as a driving force for the national economy.
He added that one of the complex’s key achievements is ensuring a stable supply of feedstock to the Persian Gulf Star Refinery and other strategic industries. “South Pars’ success under difficult conditions reflects the expertise, dedication, and continuous efforts of its workforce, symbolizing the strength and self-sufficiency of Iran’s gas industry in facing challenges,” Hosseini said.
