€150m gas projects launched

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company announced the launch of 680 kilometers of gas transmission pipelines and nine turbocompressor units across four gas compressor stations, with a total investment of €150 million under the 14th administration.

According to the company, Behnam Mirzaei said the firm has commissioned more than 12,000 kilometers of gas pipelines, 216 turbocompressors, and 24 operation centers since its establishment. He added that this year, 948 kilometers of new transmission pipelines and three additional compressor stations will come online. The Sarajeh gas storage project, aimed at boosting capacity from 1 billion to 1.5 billion cubic meters, will also be completed.

Mirzaei noted that more than 90% of the equipment needed for gas transmission, compressor, and processing projects is now manufactured domestically. He said this progress reflects the gas industry’s reliance on the capabilities of local manufacturers and Iranian contractors.

He added that Iran’s gas industry, powered by the expertise of its domestic specialists, has reached a level where it plays a key role in ensuring a stable national energy supply.
