NIOC head highlights offshore oil output in Persian Gulf

SHANA (Tehran) – The managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company said achieving production targets in the Persian Gulf’s offshore fields, despite sanctions and aging equipment, is a significant accomplishment.

Hamid Bovard, during a visit Monday to the Iranian Offshore Oil Co. and a meeting with its board members, stressed the need to accelerate major projects and maintenance programs in the region’s oil and gas fields, according to NIOC.

He praised the efforts of Offshore Oil Company employees working under difficult conditions, noting that the company has achieved 99.4% of its production targets in the Persian Gulf offshore fields.

Bovard also called for the completion of major projects, including the Forouzan F18 platform, the Abouzar oil pipeline, and pressure-boosting facilities in the Forouzan and Salman fields, along with the installation of platforms in the Reshadat field. He emphasized speeding up development across other fields in the region and prioritizing gas flare recovery.

He added that NIOC is fully prepared to provide the offshore company with necessary equipment, particularly turbomachinery, as well as financial resources.
