KOGPC stabilizes daily output at 55,000 barrels

SHANA (Tehran) – Karoon Oil & Gas Production Co. (KOGPC) has stabilized daily crude oil production at 55,000 barrels through technical and operational upgrades at its upstream and downstream facilities, marking a significant step toward boosting production capacity.

According to the company, Managing Director Hassan Shahrouei said that process improvements at Karoun’s facilities have not only stabilized daily production at 55,000 barrels but also led to an increase of 3,000 barrels per day. He noted that these achievements were made using domestic capabilities and by enhancing operational infrastructure.

He added that the construction of a new 24-inch pipeline for transporting saline oil from Ahvaz Production Unit No. 1 to the centralized desalting facility made it possible to completely separate Mansouri Bangestan crude from Ahvaz-1 Asmari crude. This move improved oil quality and allowed for major maintenance at the Mansouri desalting unit without disrupting production.

At Ahvaz Unit No. 1, Shahrouei said the separation of low-saline Bangestan crude and the creation of capacity for processing saline oil enabled the reopening of shut-in Bangestan wells at Mansouri, resulting in an additional 3,000 barrels per day in production.

He also highlighted recent developments at the Ahvaz-4 two-phase pumping station, where connecting the above-ground 12-inch pipeline No. 68 to 8-inch output lines, linking three production wells to the station, and upgrading flow restrictors helped fulfill production commitments and reduce gas flaring.
