Third well ring of infill drilling project begins operation in SP

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company announced the commissioning of the third well ring in the infill drilling project at the South Pars gas field, stating that daily gas extraction capacity has increased by 1.6 million cubic meters.

According to a POGC report, Touraj Dehqani highlighted progress in the infill drilling operations at the joint South Pars field, noting that the third well ring, located at platform SPD19A in Phase 19, is now operational.

"With this, three well rings of the infill project have been fully commissioned, adding a total of 5.1 million cubic meters per day to South Pars’ gas extraction capacity," he said.

Dehqani added that as work progresses on the project’s packages, additional wells will come online in the coming months.

The South Pars infill drilling project involves drilling 35 new wells across 17 existing gas platforms. Once fully completed, it will boost the field’s daily gas output by 36 million cubic meters.
