SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) emphasized the strategic importance of border regions, such as West Karun, stating that the development of shared oilfields is progressing strongly with coordinated planning and a targeted approach.

According to PEDEC, Nasrollah Zarei, during a visit to oil facilities in West Karun on Thursday, highlighted the region’s strategic significance, saying, “Maintaining security and production stability in border areas, especially West Karun, is a top priority for Iran’s oil industry. PEDEC is rigorously pursuing the development of shared oilfields through integrated planning.”

He praised the round-the-clock efforts of oil industry workers and stressed the need to sustain development activities in shared oilfields.
