Speaking at a meeting with senior oil officials on Kharg Island on Saturday, Hamid Bovard highlighted the island’s key role in oil production and exports. “Kharg is the final link in the oil production chain, where the efforts of the entire oil industry workforce come to fruition,” he stated.
Bovard noted that under the 14th administration, oil exports have significantly increased and continued without disruption. “Kharg is not just an export terminal; it also houses processing facilities for three major oil fields—Abouzar, Forouzan, and Doroud—further underscoring its importance,” he added.
The NIOC head emphasized the company’s readiness to develop and modernize Kharg’s infrastructure. “From major repairs to research projects, all resources are mobilized to boost capacity here,” he said.
Bovard acknowledged the island’s reliance on the oil industry, praising the residents’ contributions. “The people of Kharg have rendered invaluable service to the oil industry and the nation, and we are grateful,” he said. “As part of our social responsibilities, we will use all available means to serve them. In this regard, the Iranian Oil Terminals Company has effectively played its role through an independent social responsibility framework.”
He also highlighted Kharg Island’s unique features, calling it a “divine blessing” due to its coral reefs and strategic location. “Kharg is a national asset, and all of Iran’s eyes are on it,” he said.
Bovard commended the operational staff of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, stressing that oil exports continue smoothly and that regional developments will not hinder the oil industry’s commitment to its duties.
