Power plant gas consumption surpasses household use

SHANA (Tehran) – An analysis of recent three-day data shows that gas consumption by power plants continues to rise. The gap between power plant and household consumption reached over 96 million cubic meters (mcm) between Friday (May 2) and Sunday (May 4).

During this period, power plants consumed more than 742 mcm of gas, while household and commercial use reached about 646 mcm. Major industries accounted for nearly 527 mcm.

Official data indicates that on Friday (May 2), power plants received 230.47 mcm, major industries used 180.33 mcm, and households and commercial sectors consumed 209.36 mcm.

On Saturday (May 3), gas supplied to power plants was 253.11 mcm, while major industries received 174.28 mcm. Households, commercial sectors, and small industries used 223.42 mcm.

On Sunday (May 4), power plants were allocated 258.88 mcm of gas. Major industries consumed 172.32 mcm, while household and commercial use reached 213.15 mcm.
