Alireza Avani stated that urban gas coverage in Tehran Province has reached 100%, while rural coverage stands at 99.6%. He added that the number of gas subscribers in the province has surpassed 4 million. This achievement results from continuous efforts to expand the gas network, increase capacity to meet demand, and streamline subscription processes, reflecting growing demand for clean energy and the company’s extensive services to diverse communities.
Avani noted that in the past year, the company installed 6,771 new gas connections, laid 55 kilometers of feeder lines, and constructed 231 kilometers of gas distribution networks across the province. Additionally, the company conducted 23,000 kilometers of leak detection operations and responded to 343,000 emergency calls through its gas emergency center.
10m accident-free work hours recorded
The CEO highlighted that the company achieved 10 million accident-free work hours last year. Thirty-seven specialized drills were conducted in operational, emergency, and safety fields, demonstrating the company’s high preparedness for crises. Key resilience projects included installing accelerometers, emergency shutdown systems for superblock valves, reinforcing gas risers, and expanding the SCADA system (smart monitoring and control of the gas network).
Avani also emphasized public awareness campaigns, including 185 "Gas Assistant" programs in schools to promote efficient consumption and 1,388 square meters of environmental advertising across the city. Over 58,000 on-site inspections were carried out at government offices and public spaces to optimize gas usage during winter.
In collaboration with Iran’s state broadcaster, the company produced and aired 400 minutes of educational content to raise awareness about gas conservation and safety. Additionally, 85,000 training hours were provided to employees and contractors, and 38 million SMS messages were sent to promote efficient gas use.
Avani thanked employees for their efforts, stressing the company’s commitment to delivering "more sustainable, faster, and safer services to citizens across the province."
