Abdollah Azari-Ahvazi, commenting on the rig’s installation, stated: "Following directives from Iran’s oil minister and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company to accelerate exploration and development activities in shared fields, reservoir evaluations, and assessments of production capacity in the Arvand field, the drilling rig has been installed by Arvandan Oil and Gas Company in collaboration with a contracting firm."
Expressing satisfaction over the project’s launch after prolonged efforts by Arvandan Oil and Gas employees during the Nowruz holidays and the first week of the new year, he added: "Drilling and repairing these two wells are crucial for evaluating the field’s oil production potential. Given the field’s border location and optimal reservoir pressure, new studies through additional wells are necessary to reassess current wells."
The CEO noted that "Rig No. 1 is now operational in the field, and after completing repairs and evaluations, it will be relocated to drill Well No. 4."
Azari-Ahvazi also mentioned that "hydraulic fracturing technology is planned to enhance oil recovery in the field’s development."
Emphasizing the priority of increasing output from shared fields, he said: "After 12 years of determined efforts, we have achieved this goal. Site preparation for the new well is complete, and excavation is underway."
He added that "if these two wells prove productive, future development plans—including drilling additional wells and constructing processing facilities—will be prioritized by the National Iranian Oil Company."
