Speaking at an iftar dinner on Monday evening for faculty members, academic staff, and administrators at Shahid Beheshti University, he emphasized that these challenges have numerous solutions if knowledgeable, capable, and motivated individuals take action.
Pezeshkian, who has long believed that entrusting the management of the country to academics would solve its problems, reiterated his conviction. "If tasks are delegated to those who possess the knowledge, skills, and motivation to solve problems, all issues can be resolved," he said.
He noted that seemingly similar problems do not necessarily have identical solutions. "As we seek to address these issues, especially imbalances, multiple solutions have been proposed. We must select the appropriate solution for each problem based on its specific circumstances and regional conditions," he added.
The president also highlighted the country's financial challenges, pointing out that an estimated $150 billion in hidden subsidies are distributed annually, often failing to reach those in need. "It is unacceptable to me that, despite the country's vast wealth and resources, some people struggle to meet their basic needs while wealthier individuals receive a larger share of subsidies," he said. Pezeshkian stressed the need to ensure that no one faces hardship in securing their most essential requirements.
