Banafsheh Almasinia, speaking at the opening ceremony of the third Petrotech Conference on Sunday, noted that the conference aims to facilitate scientific exchange, showcase capabilities, and sign major contracts in the field of oil industry technology and innovation.
She went on to say that the event coincides with the first year of the implementation of the country’s seventh development plan.
The secretary of the event emphasized that the conference is designed to highlight programs and priorities in oil industry technology and innovation. The conference, approved by Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, takes place on February 23 and 24, coinciding with National Engineering Day.
Almasinia added that the event will feature 15 specialized sessions and three workshops focusing on topics such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, hydrogen as a future clean fuel, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the oil industry. A side exhibition will host 44 knowledge-based companies, 15 of which will unveil new products for the first time.
The secretary of the conference reported that over 1,300 participants, including senior executives, university professors, private and NTBFs managers, and representatives of scientific associations, have registered for the event. Specialized sessions will involve CEOs of major oil companies, addressing employer approaches and technological needs. For the first time, "Technology Development Narratives" have been added to the conference agenda, documenting innovative experiences and trends.
Almasinia highlighted that among the key achievements of the conference are the signing of eight major contracts worth 757 billion tomans and €31 million on the opening day, followed by 15 additional contracts worth 685 billion tomans on the second day.
The third Petrotech Conference is being held on Sunday and Monday at the Tehran Research Institute of Petroleum Industry.
