SP Phase 5 Refinery sends 16 bcm of gas to national grid

SHANA (Tehran) – The director of the South Pars Phase 5 Refinery highlighted the significant synergy between the country's largest gas production center and new technology-based firms (NTBFs), emphasizing that the first-time construction efforts mark a crucial step toward sustainable production.

Kambiz Sefati stated that since the beginning of this year (March 20, 2024), over 16 billion cubic meters of gas have been processed and sent to the national grid from this refinery.

Sefati noted that critical maintenance operations at the South Pars Phase 5 Refinery were successfully completed in the shortest possible time without any incidents, utilizing domestically manufactured equipment.

He added that, thanks to the creativity, innovation, and dedicated efforts of the refinery's hardworking staff, over 16 million cubic meters of gas have been delivered to the national grid since the start of the year.

The official further reported that during the same period, the refinery produced more than 119,000 tons of ethane, 430,000 tons of propane, and over 240,000 tons of butane.

The director also emphasized that significant projects aimed at addressing environmental concerns and reducing pollution are underway at the facility.

He detailed that the flaring reduction project, supported by precise planning and the provision of necessary materials, has made satisfactory progress so far, with hopes of achieving its goals as scheduled.
