Fuel deliveries to power stations up over 50% during cold days

SHANA (Tehran) – The delivery of mazut to power plants from October 22, 2024 to January 31, 2025 increased by more than 1.7 billion liters compared to the same period last year.

During the period, a total of 4.941 billion liters of mazut was delivered to the country's power plants, marking a 53% increase compared to the same period last year, with a rise of 1.718 billion liters.

Notably, during the month to January 19, an average of 53.9 million liters of mazut was delivered daily to power plants, reflecting a 31.6% increase in fuel deliveries. During the 30 days to January 19, 2024, the average daily delivery was 40.9 million liters, indicating a daily increase of 12.9 million liters.

Additionally, in the month to January 19, an average of 84.3 million liters of liquid fuel were delivered daily to power plants, representing a 26.4% increase compared to the same period in preceding year, when the average daily delivery was 66.7 million liters. This marks a daily increase of 17.6 million liters.
