Deputy minister urges more coordination between IGEDC, NIGC

SHANA (Tehran) – The deputy oil minister for gas affairs emphasized that the Iran Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC) is integral to the broader operations of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

Saeid Tavakoli stated that the new management’s primary focus will be on internal meritocracy and prioritizing the completion of unfinished projects.

Tavakoli, speaking at a ceremony honoring former CEO Reza Noshadi and introducing Behnam Mirzaei as the new acting head of the IGEDC, highlighted the company’s achievements, noting that over 40,100 kilometers of high-pressure pipelines and 94 pressure-boosting stations have been constructed, attributing these successes to the efforts of past and present managers and engineers.

Tavakoli described the IGEDC as a well-established entity, stressing that synergy and coordination with other sectors of the company are crucial for visibility and effectiveness.

He emphasized that the company plays a key role in the broader operations of the NIGC.

The CEO of the NIGC praised the efforts of the previous management, underscoring the importance of decisive and resolute decision-making and urged the new management to build on past achievements while focusing on future goals.

Work integrity, project prioritization

Tavakoli identified two main priorities for the IGEDC: developing human resource capacities and prioritizing projects.

He emphasized the importance of ethical behavior and performance, calling for the identification and training of skilled young professionals to ensure a robust succession pipeline.

He also stressed the need for project prioritization, advocating for synergy and coordination with other company sectors to define optimal timelines for project delivery. This approach aims to maximize the quality and utilization of project capacities within set deadlines.

The deputy oil minister highlighted the importance of completing unfinished projects to maintain the stability of the national network.

He called for a scientific and precise approach to project management, emphasizing operational efficiency and the need for high-quality project execution and timely delivery.

Trust in engineers

Behnam Mirzaei, the new acting head of the IGEDC, thanked the outgoing CEO for his efforts. He noted that the decision to appoint a leader from within the company reflects the deputy minister’s confidence in the expertise and capabilities of its engineers and managers.

Reza Noshadi, the former CEO, provided a report on the company’s achievements over the past three years, highlighting efforts to increase risk acceptance among managers and engineers through scientific and legal mechanisms.

He described Mirzaei’s appointment as a promising development and called for collective efforts to advance the company’s goals.

In his closing remarks, Mirzaei stated that the IGEDC serves as the executive arm of the NIGC, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the country’s energy security.
