Ali-Mohammad Mousavi, speaking on Sunday, at the conclusion of the GECF meeting, stated that the resolutions primarily addressed technical matters, planning and budgeting, personnel issues, and the selection of board members.
The official presiding over the meeting despite personal hardships, noting that, in addition to routine discussions, decisions were made regarding the approval of the forum’s program and budget as well as the appointment of executive board members.
Mousavi announced that the 27th GECF Ministerial Meeting will take place in Qatar in 2025, and the 8th GECF Heads of State Summit is scheduled for 2026 in Russia.
He highlighted a key aspect of the final statement, which condemned Israeli aggression against Iran as noted by GECF members. The statement also emphasized that actions targeting Iran could jeopardize global energy supply security.
The deputy minister further noted that the statement referenced a ruling by the International Court of Justice condemning attacks on the Palestinian people.
Mousavi described the GECF as a platform centered on dialogue, cooperation, information exchange, and technical collaboration. He added that the forum conducts extensive research on the future of the gas market, presenting three such studies during the meeting, all of which were approved during the session.
He reiterated that this session resulted in three ministerial resolutions and one statement, with the resolutions focusing on technical issues, budgeting, staffing, and the selection of board members.
In conclusion, Mousavi stated that the forum’s members expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Iranian people, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Minister of Oil.
