Fuel Consumption Coming Down by 10 ml/d

SHANA (Tehran) - The already prepared infrastructures will help the country to reduce fuel consumption by 10 million liters per day.

The managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Jalil Salari made the remarks, adding while fuel consumption stood at 32 billion liters three years ago, the figure has increased to 46 billion liters this year, implying the rising number of fuel transactions, which in turn makes updating of the smart fuel system necessary.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Center for Specialized Repairs of Smart Fuel System Terminals here on Saturday, the CEO of NIORDC said that the company has launched a mapping system to monitor vehicle movements in cities and inter-city roads which will start operations next month.

The mapping system will be able to reduce fuel consumption by 5 to 7 million liters per day, Jalil Salari said, adding the already established infrastructures in the fuel consumption management sector would contribute to the reduction of fuel consumption by 10 million liters per day before the end of current Iranian calendar year, which comes to an end on march 20, 2025.

He continued: With the help of Bank Melli along with gas station syndicates and equipping the repair centers in various provinces of the country, it could reduce the breakdown of the smart fuel system to the lowest possible level and at the same time repair the card readers backing them to operation.
