TEHRAN – The Oriental Oil Kish Company paid bribes to a number of employees in the Pars Oil and Gas Company to secure a terminated deal, the director of Pars said.
Akbar Torkan said the contract for drilling in Phases 9 and 10 of the offshore South Pars Gas Field had been cancelled.
He said negotiations have begun for finding a new partner to undertake drilling operations.
Torkan noted that Oriental Oil Kish had been in cahoots with the American Halliburton.
The state-run National Iranian Oil Company had ruled that the Oriental Oil Kish stop activity in South Pars for financial corruption.
