
TEHRAN – Director of West Azarbaijan Petrochemical Complex noted that financial packets offered by consortiums taking part in the complexs tender bid will be opened next week.
Ali Nour-Jahan, told Petroenergy Information Network that three consortiums comprising Iranian and foreign companies have taken part in the bid and after choosing the contractor, they will have a full month to sign the contract.
He added that the consortiums included a British company, Irans Chegalesh, South Koreas Samsung, Irans Sazeh, Italys Technimont as well as Irans Nargan companies.
The official noted that petrochemical complexes of Mahabad and Lorestan will be built through sowing technical know-how to produce various types of polymer products and both complexes have similar capacities.
“The technology is monopolized by Basell, BP, and a Dutch company,” he said.
The official stated that the contract following tender bid will be signed by late August.
Mahabad Petrochemical Complex will be built near Mahabad town in West Azarbaijan province and will be producing 300,000 tons high density as well as low density linear polyethylene in addition to 30,000 tons butane 1.
The complex will consume 324,000 tons ethylene per year as feedstock which will be supplied by cross-country ethylene pipeline which starts in Assaluyeh, Bushehr province.
