PBO chief: Iran oil revenues up 42% since spring

SHANA (Tehran) – Iran’s Plan and Budget Organization (PBO) head on Tuesday said the country’s oil revenues have increased 42 percent since the beginning of the current calendar Iranian year (March 21, 2023).

Speaking in the Parliament, Davoud Manzour added, “As stipulated in the budget law, more than 1.4 million barrels of oil and gas condensates are exported per day.”

He hailed the constructive cooperation between the Parliament and the government and also between the Parliament’s Plan, Budget and Audit Committee and PBO.

On Monday, Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji said his country’s crude output has reached 3.19 million barrels per day (bpd) and one billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas are produced a day, adding Iran’s oil production capacity stands at 3.85m bpd.

Earlier, the National Iranian Oil Company managing director said the country’s crude production will hit 3.5 million barrels per day (bpd) by September 22, 2023.

Mohsen Khojastehmehr added Iran’s oil output stood at 2.2m bpd in August 2021, when the 13th (incumbent) administration took over.
