Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the weekly cabinet meeting, the minister added several oil and gas fields are shared between Iran and its neighboring states and joint exploitation of these fields is underway after reaching an understanding.
Regarding the Arash gas field shared between Iran and Kuwait, he said, “We have told Kuwait that we are ready to jointly exploit the field like other shared fields and the Islamic Republic has an inalienable right to it.”
Owji underlined if Kuwait shuns cooperation, Iran knows what to do and will not back down “an iota” on its right.
SP Phase 11 inauguration
The oil minister said Phase 11 of the South Pars (SP) gas field will become operational in the presence of President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi in the coming weeks.
Located at the zero border point, Phase 11 is the last and the most important phase of the South Pars gas field, mentioned Owji, regretting that the contract on its completion had been protracted for some 20 years.
He, however, said the 13th (Raeisi) administration carried out the Phase 11 operations from A to Z and the project was implemented three years earlier than planned.
According to him, gas recovery from the SP Phase 11 will be between 12 and 15 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d).
APG collection
The 13th administration has carried out positive measures for gathering associated petroleum gas (APG), said the oil minister.
Owji added his ministry has outlined plans for all flare gas collection projects, pointing to two projects implemented during his tenure, including the NGL 3200 plant in Hoveyzeh gas complex for gathering APG of West Karoun oil fields inaugurated in the presence of President Raeisi.
The Oil Ministry plans to gather associated gases of all fields by the end of the incumbent government’s term.
