He made the remarks in a meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, adding Iran has given top priority to the expansion of relations with neighboring and Muslim countries.

“Accelerating the implementation of agreements between the two countries will further promote economic and commercial cooperation between Iran and Pakistan and consequently political ties between the two neighbors,” Raeisi mentioned.

The president also pointed to the enemies’ efforts to disrupt relations between regional states, calling for boosting bilateral and regional cooperation and interactions by using existing opportunities and sharing each other’s capacities.

General Munir, for his part, appreciated Iran’s policy on cementing ties with neighboring states, particularly Pakistan, describing it as an invaluable opportunity for the Islamic world.

Pointing to the long frontier between the two countries and their high capacities for border transactions, the general said economic and commercial exchanges on the shared border will improve security.

Good agreements have been reached to strengthen security along the common border, added Munir, concluding, “Our efforts are focused on speeding up the measures for establishing sustainable security.”
