According to the report, Iran’s oil output – production of crude, gas condensates, and natural gas liquids (NGL) – hit 3.822 million barrels per day (bpd) on average in 2022, around 170,000 bpd higher than its previous year.

Iran produced 3.313 million barrels of crude oil and gas condensates a day last year, the figures in the review showed, meaning the country’s annual output witnessed a 4.1 percent or 129,000 bpd hike when compared with 3.184 million barrels per day in 2021.

The report’s statistics also show an 8.5 percent or 40,000 bpd rise in Iran’s NGL production, as the figure soared to 509,000 bpd last year from 469,000 bpd in 2021.

Refineries output up 2.2%

Production in Iran’s refineries increased by 2.2 percent in 2022, as it rose to 2.397 million bpd from 2.344 million bpd in its preceding year, the Energy Institute reported, putting Iran’s crude oil refining capacity at 2.67 million bpd last year – 2.3 percent higher than 2.61 million bpd in 2021.

1.1% increase in natural gas output

The 72nd edition of the Statistical Review of World Energy also showed a 1.1 percent increase in Iran’s 2022 natural gas production, 259.4 billion cubic meters (bcm), from 256.7 bcm in 2021.
